Academics
Students at DUC receive a comprehensive philosophical and theological education. The university values academic excellence and intellectual rigour. In philosophy, we study the great works of the Classical and Continental traditions. We also care deeply about contemporary thinkers and issues. In theology, we adopt a systematic approach to best serve the comprehension and service of the Faith.
Small classes conducted in both French and English help contribute to a dynamic learning environment. Students are able to interact with approachable faculty members, allowing them to build confidence in their ability to form coherent arguments and reasonable beliefs. They become equipped as thinking agents as they question the foundations of thinking and believing, assisted by the likes of Plato and Aristotle, Augustine and Aquinas. The great works of history guide us as we pose together life’s enduring questions while forming habits of academic and human excellence.
